The Chairman All Lead Banks

Dear Sir,

The Department of Revenue and Rehabilitation, Government of Punjab vide their Gazette Notification No. 2/7/98-RE-II(I)3336 dated April 5, 2006 have advised about the formation of new district viz. Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar covering three tehsils, viz Kharar Tehsil (200 villages), Mohali Tehsil (82 villages) both carved out of existing Ropar district and Dera Bassi Tehsil (154 villages) carved out of existing Patiala district, with effect from April 14, 2006.

2. It has been decided to assign the Lead Bank responsibility of the new district to Punjab National Bank.

3. There is no change in the lead bank responsibilities of other districts in the State.
