Formation of new districts in Jammu & Kashmir State – Assignment of Lead Bank responsibility

Please refer to our Circular No. RPCD.CO.LBS.No. 9578/02.08.01/2006-07 dated April 13, 2007, about the assignment of Lead Bank responsibility on temporary basis in eight newly created districts viz. Ganderbal, Bandipur, Shopian, Kulgam, Samba, Reasi, Ramban and Kishtwar carved out of the existing districts of Srinagar, Barmulla, Pulwama, Jammu, Udhampur and Doda districts in the State of Jammu & Kashmir pending issue of official Notification by State Government.

The Government of Jammu & Kashmir has issued official Gazette Notification No Rev/S/183/2006 dated May 22, 2007 defining the territorial limits of the newly created and adjoining districts, sub-division and Tehsils etc. Therefore, it has been decided to regularise the assignment of Lead Bank responsibility in respect of newly created districts to State Bank of India and the Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd. as indicated against each district in the following table:-

Excluding villages Panzinara and Rambirgarh which are included in Patwar Halqa Mujgund of Tehsil Srinagar (South).
3	Shopian	J & K Bank Ltd.	Pulwana	Tehsil Shopian comprising 43 Patwar Halqas and 231 villages
4	Kulgam	J & K Bank Ltd.	Pulwana	(a) Tehsil - Devsar, (b) Tehsil - Kulgam I. including 6 villages viz Bonigam, Bihama, Newa, Yarhole-Babapora, Mandhole and Chandan Panjan which are excluded from Patwar Halqa Vessu and Patwar Halqa Nassu Badragund of Tehsil Dooru, Dist. Anantnag. The halqabandi of these villages shall be as under: i. The villages namely Bonigam, Bihama, Newa, Yarhole-Babapora shall form New Patwar Halqa Bonigam ii. The villages Akhran Palpora, Nowgam, Devsar, Mandhole and Chandan Pajan shall form New Patwar Halqa Akhran iii. Villages Khudwani, Bage-Khudwani Bage-Wanpoh, Bage-Sekiloo, Mugal Bagh and Khrewan Lasipora shall form new Patwar Halqa Khudwani. II. Excluding four villages of Patwar Halqa Laramgangipora and four villages of Patwar Halqa Neepora which are included in Tehsil Anantnag. III. Excluding Patwar Halqas and villages forming New Tehsil - Dhamhal Hanjipora (c) New Tehsil Damhal Hanjipora comprising 16 Patwar Halqas and 51 villages
5	Samba	State Bank of India	Jammu	(a) Reconstituted Tehsil Samba comprising 55 Patwar Halqas and 388 villages
6.	Reasi	State Bank of India	Udhampur	(a) Tehsil Reasi including two Patwar Halqas viz. Chandwan and Sool which shall form part of Niabat Katra and are excluded from Niabat Tikri of Tehsil & District Udhampur. (b) Tehsil Gool-Gulabgarh comprising 16 Patwar Halqas and 60 villages
7.	Ramban	State Bank of India	Doda	(a) Tehsil - Banihal, (b) Tehsil - Ramban comprising 15 Patwar Halqas and 79 villages
8	Kishtwar	State Bank of India	Doda	(a) Tehsil – Chhatroo, (b) Tehsil – Marwah, (c) Tehsil – Kishtwar, (d) Tehsil Atholi (Paddar) comprising 5 Patwar Halqas and 32 villages

2. There is no change in the lead bank responsibilities of other districts in the State.
