The Reserve Bank of India has today once again placed revised draft guidelines on lending to priority sector on its website (www.rbi.org.in) for additional feedback, if any. Views and comments on these revised draft guidelines may be sent by email or fax to 022-22610943 / 22610948, by February 28, 2007.

Consequent upon the announcement made by the Reserve Bank in its Mid-term review of the Annual Policy Statement for 2006-07, the draft guidelines on lending to the priority sector were placed on the Bank's website (www.rbi.org.in) on November 8, 2006, for inviting feedback. The draft guidelines were based on the draft Technical Paper submitted by the Internal Working Group (Chairman: Shri C.S.Murthy) and were revised in the light of feedback received from banks, financial institutions, non-banking financial companies, associations of industries, media, public and the Indian Banks' Association.
