MANI (Mobile Aided Note Identifier) - Introduction of multi-lingual audio notification
The MANI App was launched on January 01, 2020 for aiding visually impaired persons to identify the denomination of Indian Banknotes. This App, which identifies the denomination of banknotes through audio notification in Hindi and English, is now capable of notifying the banknote denomination in 11 other languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu). RBI clarifies: No change in existing Currency and Banknotes
There are reports in certain sections of the media that the Reserve Bank of India is considering changes to the existing currency and banknotes by replacing the face of Mahatma Gandhi with that of others. Report on Currency and Finance (RCF) for the year 2021-22

Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), laid foundation stone for the establishment of a Learning and Development Centre (LDC) of the Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Private Limited (BRBNMPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of RBI, today (March 28, 2022) in Mysuru. RBI cautions the public not to fall prey to fictitious offers of buying/ selling of Old Banknotes and Coins
It has come to the notice of Reserve Bank of India that certain elements are fraudulently using the name/ logo of Reserve Bank of India, and seeking charges/ commission/ tax from public, in transactions related to buying and selling of old banknotes and coins through various online/ offline platforms. It is clarified that Reserve Bank of India does not deal in such matters and never seeks charges/ commissions of any sort. Reserve Bank of India has also not authorised

Issue of ₹10 Denomination Banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series bearing the signature of Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor
The Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue ₹10 denomination Banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series bearing the signature of Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor. The design of these notes is similar in all respects to ₹10 banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series. The Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue ₹ 20 denomination banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series, bearing signature of Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor, Reserve Bank of India.
