The Government of India has announced the buyback of its Securities through auction for an aggregate amount of ₹40,000 crore (face value). The following securities will be offered for buyback: Sr. No. Security Date of Maturity 1 6.18% GS 2024 November 4, 2024 2 9.15% GS 2024 November 14, 2024 3 6.89% GS 2025 January 16, 2025
The Government of India has announced the buyback of its Securities through auction for an aggregate amount of ₹40,000 crore (face value). The following securities will be offered for buyback: Sr. No. Security Date of Maturity 1 6.18% GS 2024 November 4, 2024 2 9.15% GS 2024 November 14, 2024 3 6.89% GS 2025 January 16, 2025
In terms of GOI Notification F.No. 4(08) - W&M/2017 dated April 20, 2017 (SGB 2017-18 Series I-Issue date May 12, 2017) on Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme, premature redemption of Gold Bond may be permitted after fifth year from the date of issue of such Gold Bond on the date on which interest is payable. Accordingly, the next due date of premature redemption of the above tranche shall be May 10, 2024 (May 11 and 12 being non-working Saturday and Sunday respectively).
In terms of GOI Notification F.No. 4(08) - W&M/2017 dated April 20, 2017 (SGB 2017-18 Series I-Issue date May 12, 2017) on Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme, premature redemption of Gold Bond may be permitted after fifth year from the date of issue of such Gold Bond on the date on which interest is payable. Accordingly, the next due date of premature redemption of the above tranche shall be May 10, 2024 (May 11 and 12 being non-working Saturday and Sunday respectively).

As announced in the Statement on Developmental and Regulatory Policies dated October 06, 2023, with a view to strengthen the extant regulatory framework governing project finance and to harmonise the instructions across all regulated entities, the Reserve Bank of India today released the draft Direction on the prudential framework applicable to financing of project loans. Given the complexities involved in project finance, the revised guidelines seek to provide an enabling framework for the regulated entities for financing of project loans, while addressing the underlying risks. The Comments on the draft Direction are invited from public/stakeholders by June 15, 2024.

The Paper is co-authored by Amar Nath Yadav, Vivek Kumar, Alok Kumar Chakrawal and Jyoti Kumari.
