Assignment of Lead Bank Responsibility in J&K

The Chairman Dear Sir, Formation of new districts in Jammu & Kashmir State – Assignment of Lead Bank responsibility Please refer to our Circular No. RPCD.CO.LBS.No. 9578/02.08.01/2006-07 dated April 13, 2007, about the assignment of Lead Bank responsibility on temporary basis in eight newly created districts viz. Ganderbal, Bandipur, Shopian, Kulgam, Samba, Reasi, Ramban and Kishtwar carved out of the existing districts of Srinagar, Barmulla, Pulwama, Jammu, Udhampur and Doda districts in the State of Jammu & Kashmir pending issue of official Notification by State Government. The Government of Jammu & Kashmir has issued official Gazette Notification No Rev/S/183/2006 dated May 22, 2007 defining the territorial limits of the newly created and adjoining districts, sub-division and Tehsils etc. Therefore, it has been decided to regularise the assignment of Lead Bank responsibility in respect of newly created districts to State Bank of India and the Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd. as indicated against each district in the following table:-
