The Chairman/ Managing Director,
(All Lead Banks)
Dear Sir,
Lead Bank Scheme - Participation of Member of Parliaments (MPs)/ Public Representatives in District Level Review Committee (DLRC) Meetings
Kindly refer to circular letter No.RPCD.LBS.BC.No.85/ 02.01.01/2000-01 dated May 9, 2001 advising all lead banks to fix the dates of DLRC meetings with due regard to MP's convenience. We had also advised that in all the functions conducted by the banks in the districts, such as opening of new branches, distribution of Kisan Credit Cards , etc., MPs and other public representatives must invariably be invited and when such representatives are present, they should be requested to preside over the function or be the Chief Guest. These instructions were reiterated vide our Circular No.RPCD.LBS.BC.No.108/ 02.01.01/2001-02 dated July 14, 2002 and RPCD.LBS.BC.No. 59 / 02.01.01/2002-03 dated January 6, 2003.
In this connection, it has been observed that hardly 15 to 20 percent of the total DLRC meetings are being attended by MP/MLA/ZP Chiefs etc. You are, therefore, requested to ensure the presence of MPs/MLA etc. in DLRC meetings in future as far as possible. It has also been decided to include the functions relating to the Self Help Group (SHG) credit linkage Programmes in which MPs/ Public Representatives should invariably be invited to grace the occasion.
Yours faithfully,
(G. Srinivasan)
Chief General Manager
