RBI to issue Rs.1000 denomination banknotes with inset letter "R"

The Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue Rs.1000 denomination banknotes with inset letter 'R' in both numbering panels in Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005 with additional/new security features bearing the signature of Dr. Y.V. RBI to issue Rs. 10 denomination bank notes with inset letter `S' in both numbering panels in Mahatma Gandhi series with Dr.Y.V.Reddy's signature

The Reserve Bank of India will shortly be issuing Rs.10 denomination bank notes with inset letter `S' in both numbering panels in Mahatma Gandhi Series. These notes will bear the signature of Dr.Y.V.Reddy, Governor. Except for the change in inset letter, the design of these notes to be issued now is similar in all respect to those issued earlier in Mahatma Gandhi Series. All notes in the denomination of Rs.10 issued by the Reserve Bank will continue to be legal tender

RBI appeals to Public to accept only Unstapled Notes

Distribution of coins in exchange - RBI reaches out to Public

In order to mitigate the hardships faced by the members of the public in obtaining coins, the Reserve Bank of India has made special arrangements to make available coins upto Rs.800/- packets in 'potlas' of 100 pieces each of Rs.1/-, Rs.2/- and Rs.5/- & coins in exchange at the premises of Lions Club of Marol Service Centre, A.K. Road, Marol, Andheri (East) on 26th November 2002. Members of public desirous of obtaining the coins may avail of the facility at above
