The Reserve Bank of India issued Directions under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 to The Suri Friends' Union Co-operative Bank Limited, Suri (West Bengal) vide Directive No. CO.DOS.SED.No.S-2574/12-07-005/2022-23 dated July 21, 2022 for a period of six months up to January 22, 2023 as modified from time to time, which were last extended up to January 22, 2024 vide Directive No. DOR.MON.D-78/12.29.046/ 2023-24 dated October 18, 2023.
The Reserve Bank of India issued Directions under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 to The Suri Friends' Union Co-operative Bank Limited, Suri (West Bengal) vide Directive No. CO.DOS.SED.No.S-2574/12-07-005/2022-23 dated July 21, 2022 for a period of six months up to January 22, 2023 as modified from time to time, which were last extended up to January 22, 2024 vide Directive No. DOR.MON.D-78/12.29.046/ 2023-24 dated October 18, 2023.
In terms of GOI Notifications F. No. 4(20) –W&M/2017 dated July 06, 2017 (SGB 2017-18, Series II - Issue date July 28, 2017) on Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme, premature redemption of Gold Bond may be permitted after fifth year from the date of issue of such Gold Bond on the date on which interest is payable. Accordingly, the next due date of premature redemption of the above tranche will be January 25, 2024 (January 26, 27 and 28 being holiday, non-working Saturday and Sunday respectively).

No. 4(20) –W&M/2017 dated July 06, 2017 (SGB 2017-18, Series II - Issue date July 28, 2017) on Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme, premature redemption of Gold Bond may be permitted after fifth year from the date of issue of such Gold Bond on the date on which interest is payable. Accordingly, the next due date of premature redemption of the above tranche will be January 25, 2024 (January 26, 27 and 28 being holiday, non-working Saturday and Sunday respectively).

Accordingly, the next due date of premature redemption of the above tranche will be January 20, 2024 (January 21 and 22 being Sunday and holiday respectively).

Government of Maharashtra has declared January 22, 2024 as a public holiday under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. Accordingly, and in modification of the press release 2023-2024/1710 issued earlier today on “Market Trading Hours on January 22, 2024”, there will be no transactions and settlements in Government securities (primary and secondary), foreign exchange, money markets and Rupee Interest Rate Derivatives on January 22, 2024 (Monday). Settlement of all outstanding transactions will accordingly get postponed to the next working day i.e., January 23, 2024 (Tuesday).

The Reserve Bank of India is satisfied that in the public interest, it is necessary to further extend the period of operation of the Directive beyond close of business on January 24, 2024.
The Reserve Bank of India issued Directions under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 to The National Co-operative Bank Ltd., Bangalore vide Directive No. BLR.DOS.SSMS.No.S836/09-01-112/2023-2024 dated July 24, 2023, for a period of six months up to close of business on January 24, 2024. The Reserve Bank of India is satisfied that in the public interest, it is necessary to further extend the period of operation of the Directive beyond close of business on January 24, 2024.
