The Reserve Bank of India has been conducting the Consumer Confidence Survey (CCS) since 2010 and the summary data on CCS are released in the Bank’s website after finalisation of each round. In order to encourage research, it has been decided to disseminate unit-level data on CCS through the Reserve Bank’s data warehouse, the ‘Database on Indian Economy’ (https://dbie.rbi.org.in), with a lag of one quarter, after the release of the consolidated results of each round of the survey. With this press release, unit-level data are being released for the March 2015 round onwards. Meta data on various items are also provided.

It may be noted that:

1. responses of households on income, spending, price and inflation may be based on their own consumption baskets; and

2. households’ assessments are subjective, guided by their own understanding of the subject, and may lack internal consistency
