A meeting of the High Level Coordination Committee on Financial Markets (HLCCFM) was held today at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Mumbai. Dr. D. Subbarao, Governor, Reserve Bank of India chaired the meeting. Shri Ashok Chawla, Finance Secretary; Shri R. Gopalan, Secretary, Department of Financial Services; Dr. Kaushik Basu, Chief Economic Advisor, Ministry of Finance, Government of India; Shri C.B. Bhave, Chairman, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI); Shri J. Hari Narayan, Chairman, Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA); Shri G.C Chaturvedi, Chairman, Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) and senior officials of the Ministry of Finance, RBI, SEBI and PFRDA attended the meeting.

The HLCCFM is a high level forum for interface among the financial sector regulators.

The HLCCFM reviewed the developments in financial markets and deliberated, among others, on issues relating to the development of the corporate debt market, the budget announcements on Financial Stability and Development Council (FSDC) and the Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission (FSLRC), the report of the Committee on Investor Awareness and Protection and other inter-regulatory matters.
