The Reserve Bank of India had, in its Statement on Developmental and Regulatory Policies of the Second Bi-monthly Monetary Policy dated June 06, 2018, announced that it will introduce regulations, in line with the best global practices, to prevent abuse in markets regulated by the Reserve Bank. Accordingly, draft directions on Prohibition of Market Abuse were issued inviting comments from market participants and other interested parties. Based on comments received, the Reserve Bank of India (Prevention of Market Abuse) Directions, 2019 have been finalized and issued today.
