The Mumbai Office of the Reserve Bank of India is launching a special drive from November 2, 1998 for exchange of soiled and cut/mutilated notes in the denominations of rupee one, Rs.2 and Rs.5. The admissible exchange value in terms of the Reserve Bank of India (Note Refund) Rules, 1975, will be paid in the form of coins across the counter. Members of public may avail of this facility at the special counters in the Banking Hall at the Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai Main Office, Shahid Bhagat Singh Road, Mumbai 400 001.
