RBI cancels licence of the Jabalpur Nagrik Sahakari Bank Ltd.
The Reserve Bank of India has cancelled the licence granted to the Jabalpur Nagrik Sahakari Bank Ltd., Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh to carry on banking business. The bank is precluded from transacting the business of 'banking' as defined in the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (as applicable to Co-operative Societies) and it will not be in order for it among other things, to accept deposits from the public and allow withdrawals by cheque, draft, order or otherwise.Alpana Kill

Extension of time for moratorium Sikkim Bank Ltd.

Moratorium on Sikkim Bank Ltd.
The Central Government on an application made by the Reserve Bank of India has issued orders of moratorium on the Sikkim Bank Ltd. for the period from the close of business on September 4, 1999 upto and inclusive of December 3, 1999 under the provisions of Sub-Section (2) of Section 45 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.The moratorium has been declared in public interest, in the interest of the depositors and the banking system.Rupambara Padhi ManagerPress Release :
