The Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative Bank Ltd. branches to operate as Unity Small Finance Bank Ltd. branches from January 25, 2022
The Government of India has today sanctioned and notified the Scheme for the amalgamation of the Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative Bank Ltd. (PMC Bank) with Unity Small Finance Bank Ltd. (USFBL). The amalgamation will come into force with effect from the date of the notification of the scheme i.e. January 25, 2022. RBI issues regulations under the amended Factoring Regulation Act, 2011
Government of India has recently amended the Factoring Regulation Act, 2011 (“the Act”) which widens the scope of companies that can undertake factoring business. RBI releases Annual Report of Ombudsman Schemes, 2020-21

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released the Annual Report of the Ombudsman Schemes for the year 2020-21 today, which has been prepared for the nine-month period, i.e., July 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021, in alignment with the change in the Financial Year of RBI from ‘July – June’ to ‘April – March' with effect from July 1, 2020. The Annual Report covers the activities under the Banking Ombudsman Scheme, 2006 (BOS), the Ombudsman Scheme for Non-Banking Financial Companies

RBI releases 2021 list of Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs)
SBI, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank continue to be identified as Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs), under the same bucketing structure as in the 2020 list of D-SIBs. The additional Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) requirement for D-SIBs was phased-in from April 1, 2016 and became fully effective from April 1, 2019. The additional CET1 requirement will be in addition to the capital conservation buffer. The list of D-SIBs is as follows: Bucket Banks Additional Common

Statement on the RBL Bank Limited
There has been speculation relating to the RBL Bank Ltd. in certain quarters which appears to be arising from recent events surrounding the bank. The Reserve Bank would like to state that the bank is well capitalised and the financial position of the bank remains satisfactory.
