Prudential Norms on Income Recognition, Asset Classification and Provisioning Pertaining to Advances - Projects under Implementation

Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) increases the insurance coverage for depositors in all insured banks to ₹ 5 lakh
With a view to providing a greater measure of protection to depositors in banks the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Reserve Bank of India, has raised the limit of insurance cover for depositors in insured banks from the present level of ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh per depositor with effect from February 4, 2020 with the approval of Government of India. Reserve Bank of India imposes monetary penalty on HDFC Bank Limited

RBI Governor meets MD & CEOs of Public Sector Banks
The Governor, Reserve Bank of India held a meeting today with the MD & CEOs of major public sector banks. In his opening remarks, Governor noted that there has been some improvement in banking sector and the sector remains resilient even though current economic conditions may pose certain challenges. The Reserve Bank of India today released on its website, “Guidelines for ‘on tap’ Licensing of Small Finance Banks in the Private Sector”. Reserve Bank of India Appoints an Advisory Committee to Advise the Administrator of Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd
It may be recalled that the Reserve Bank of India, on November 20, 2019, had superseded the board of directors of Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (DHFL) and appointed Shri R Subramaniakumar as the Administrator.
