New Ferritic Stainless Steel Coins of Rs.5/- to commemorate the occasion of "75 Years of Dandi March"
The Reserve Bank of India will put into circulation New Ferritic Stainless Steel (FSS) coins of Rs.5/- issued by the Government of India to commemorate the occasion of "75 Years of Dandi March".
Designs : Security edge for 5 Rupees : The edge of the coin shall be security edge on periphery. At the centre of the edge there shall be groove with a design inside the two sections separated by blank spaces. This design shall consists of chain of beads in relief and each bead being followed by one inclined line in relief. There shall be total 30 lines and 30 beads. The coin is a legal tender as provided in the Coinage Act, 1906. The existing Five Rupees Coins in circulation shall also continue to be legal tender. Ajit Prasad Press Release : 2008-2009/74 |
