Dear Sir,

Formation of new districts in the Union Territory of Andaman &
Nicobar Islands – Assignment of Lead Bank responsibility

The Revenue Department, A & N Islands Administration vide their Official Gazette No. 153 and Notification No.147/2006/F.No.3-195/2002-LSG(Rev) dated August 17, 2006 have advised us about the formation of two districts viz. South Andaman & North and Middle Andaman in place of existing district of Andaman islands w.e.f. August 18, 2006 comprising of  the areas indicated in the following table:-

2. As the lead bank responsibility of the erstwhile Andaman islands district was with State Bank of India, It has been decided to keep the Lead Bank responsibility of both the newly created districts with State Bank of India only as hitherto.
