A meeting of the High Level Coordination Committee on Financial Markets (HLCCFM) was held today at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Mumbai. Dr. D. Subbarao, Governor, Reserve Bank of India chaired the meeting. Shri Arun Ramanathan, Finance Secretary, Shri Ashok Chawla, Secretary, Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Shri C.B.Bhave, Chairman, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Shri J. Hari Narayan, Chairman, IRDA and senior officials of the Ministry of Finance, RBI, SEBI and IRDA attended the meeting.

The HLCCFM is a high level forum for interface among the financial sector regulators.

The HLCCFM reviewed the impact of the global financial turmoil on the Indian financial sector and the action taken to address the emerging issues. The Committee also reviewed the policy agenda on the way forward.
