Recruitment for the post of Director, CAFRAL

Centre for Advanced Financial Research and Learning (CAFRAL) is an independent think-tank set up by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in the backdrop of India’s evolving role in the global economy. It aims to develop into a world class global institution that will provide cutting edge research on policy issues relating to macroeconomics, banking and finance.

The Institute seeks a Director who shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute. He/she will exercise general supervision and control over the affairs of the Institute and implement the decisions of the Governing Council. The key requirements for the position are exceptional research leadership and institution building skills, the drive to further the Institute’s mandate and the ability to enthuse, inspire and motivate highest quality analytical research and thinking in the Faculty, Research Staff and Trainees. A seasoned and accomplished academic-administrator or Researcher will be the ideal candidate.

The Director will be supported by Additional Director (Dean – Learning and Admin), Additional Director (Dean – Research), and a team of research staff and research assistants. Pay and Allowances of the Director shall be in line with the best in the industry depending on the profile of the applicant. The Director’s term may vary between 2 to 5 years, extendable up to maximum 65 years of age.

The applicant should have a PhD ideally from a renowned institution and should be actively engaged in Research work in an institution of repute. The applicant should have demonstrated a strong record of published work in Macroeconomics with a focus on Banking & Finance in refereed academic journals and books.

The Search Committee also has the right to fill up the position by invitation.

Caution

It has come to the notice of Reserve Bank of India that some fraudsters falsely promising to offer job for the posts in the bank are sending Appointment letters through emails by using fake domains which do not belong to the Reserve Bank of India, but these could be deceptively similar involving use of words such as RBI, RESERVEBANK, etc.

In view of this, the Reserve Bank of India cautions members of public to be aware of such fake Appointment letters issued by fraudsters promising job in the Bank.
