The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has, by an order dated June 06, 2019, imposed a monetary penalty of ₹ 20 million on Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited (the bank) for non-compliance with the directions issued to the bank by RBI in exercise of its powers under sections 27(2) and 35A of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (the Act) to furnish information specified therein. RBI issues Directions to Kerala Mercantile Co-operative Bank Ltd, No. 2626, Kozhikode, Kerala
The Reserve Bank of India, vide directive dated May 29, 2019 has placed the Kerala Mercantile Co-operative Bank Ltd, No. 2626, Kozhikode, Kerala under Directions. According to the Directions, depositors will be allowed to withdraw a sum not exceeding ₹2000 (Rupees Two Thousand only) of the total balance held in every savings bank or current account or any other deposit account by whatever name called, subject to conditions stipulated in the RBI Directions.
