Dear Sir,

Formation of new districts in Assam – Assignment of Lead Bank responsibility

Government of Assam vide their Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 228 dated October 30, 2003 have advised about the formation of three new districts viz. Udalguri, Chirang and Baksa District covering 827, 500 & 698 villages respectively out of the existing districts in the manner indicated below:-

2. It has been decided to assign the Lead Bank responsibility of the new districts to State Bank of India with immediate effect.

3. There is no change in the lead bank responsibilities of other districts in the State.
