Please refer to para 2.4 of minutes of the Standing Committee Meeting held on 6th & 7th November, 2003 at Bhubaneshwar.
2. Principal Chief Controller of Accounts, Central Board of Direct Taxes observed that some of the banks have failed to reconcile the data between the Nodal and Receiving Branches in the new zones of their induction. Government have expressed concern on the issue and desire that the reconciliation should be done expeditiously and there should be perceptible improvement on an on going basis. You may, therefore, please impress upon all the Receiving Branches/ Nodal Branches to bestow personal attention to the issue of reconciliation.
