Sources of Variation in Foreign Exchange Reserves in India during 2016-17
Earlier today, the Reserve Bank of India released balance of payments (BoP) data for January-March 2017 on its website (www.rbi.org.in). On the basis of these data, the sources of variation in foreign exchange reserves during 2016-17 have been compiled. Developments in India’s Balance of Payments during the Fourth Quarter (January-March) of 2016-17
Preliminary data on India’s balance of payments (BoP) for the fourth quarter (Q4) i.e., January-March 2016-17 are presented in Statements I (BPM6 format) and II (old format). The Reserve Bank releases monthly data on India’s international trade in services with a lag of around 45 days. The value of exports and imports of services during the month of April 2017 are given in the following Table.
