It is hereby notified for the information of public that the Reserve Bank of India, in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 45 IA (6) of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, has cancelled on January 30, 2003, the certificate of registration issued to Scotia Finance Private Limited, Upper Ground Floor, Dr.Gopal Das Bhavan, 28, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi-110 001 to carry on the business of a non-banking financial institution as the company has opted to exit from the business of non-banking financial institution.

As such, the above company cannot transact the business of a non-banking financial institution, as defined in Clause (a) of Section 45 I of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934.
