RBI's Platinum Jubilee : Currency Notes of last 75 years on display
The Reserve Bank of India which started operations on April 1, 1935 is celebrating its Platinum Jubilee this year. To mark this occasion, the Reserve Bank has arranged an exhibition of all the banknotes issued since its inception. The exhibition is in the Reserve Bank's Monetary Museum and will remain open for public viewing till June 30, 2010. Entry to the exhibition is free. Restrictive practices while accepting bank notes
It has come to the notice of the Reserve Bank of India that certain establishments are adopting restrictive practices such as not accepting notes of certain denominations or series etc. The Reserve Bank of India, therefore considers it necessary to emphasise that all government/semi-government offices, public/ private sector institutions and also any other organisation/establishment/ individual accepting cash should desist from such practices.
