Distribution of Coins RBI reaches out to Public
In order to mitigate the hardship faced by the members of the public in accessing coins, the Reserve Bank of India has made special arrangements to make available to the members of the public in select market locations. Coins of Re.1, Rs.2 and Rs.5 packed in 'potlas' of 100 pieces each, will be issued to the public in exchange as per the following details:Place/addressDayTime 1.Lions Club at 2, Mufaddar, Church Road, Saifee Park, Marol, Andheri (East), Mumbai- 400 059

Reserve Bank of India to distribute Coins through Lions Club in Andheri

The Byculla Office of the Reserve Bank of India is launching a special drive from December 1, 1998 for exchange of soiled, cut and mutilated notes in the denomination of Re.1, Rs.2 and Rs.5. RBI directs all bank branches to accept Rs. 500 notes
The Reserve Bank of India has today issued a circular to all commercial and cooperative banks clarifying that all Rs. 500 notes continue to be legal tender and should, therefore, be accepted for all transactions. The Reserve Bank has also asked banks to instruct all their branches to accept all Rs. 500 notes across their counters and eschew creating avoidable panic in the minds of the public. The Reserve Bank circular has been issued following some confusion about Rs.
