Information on Interest Rates
As advised vide letter No. MPD.BC.219/07.01.279/2002-03 dated July 27, 2002, banks are submitting information on interest rates periodically to the Monetary Policy Department (MPD). Keeping in view the higher level of computerisation in banks and introduction of information management system (IMS) in MPD which facilitates direct submission of data in electronic form, as also proposed structured communication with banks at quarterly intervals as announced in Annual Policy Statement 2005-06, it has become important that the data on interest rates are available in a timely manner.
2. Accordingly, banks are requested to make available data on interest rates as indicated below within 10 days following the end of the relevant reporting fortnight/quarter.
i) Lending Rates: Special Fortnightly Return VI-AB
ii) Term Deposit Rates: Special Fortnightly Return VI-B
iii) Special Quarterly Return VI-AC
iv) Special Quarterly Return VI-A
