This face of the coin shall be divided into three portions with two horizontal lines. The left center portion shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar with the legend “सत्यमेव जते" inscribed below it and the right center portion shall bear the denominational value "5" in International Numerals. In the upper portion there shall bear the words "भारत" in Hindi and "INDIA" in English and in the lower portion, the words '' रुपये'' in Hindi and "RUPEES" in English.

This face of the coin shall bear the portrait of "SHAHEED BHAGAT SINGH", flanked on the left periphery with the words ''शहीदभगत सिंह जन्मशती'' in Hindi and on the right periphery with the words " SHAHEED BHAGAT SINGH BIRTH CENTENERY" in English. The figures 1907-2007 shall be shown below the portrait in International Numerals.

The edge of the coin shall be security edged on periphery. At the center of the edge there shall be shallow groove with a design inside the two sections separated by blank spaces. This design shall consist of chain of beads in relief and each bead being followed by one inclined line in relief. There shall be total 30 lines and 30 beads.
