The Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue ₹ 50 denomination banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005, with inset letter ‘L’ in both the number panels, bearing signature of Dr. Urjit R.Patel, Governor, Reserve Bank of India, and the year of printing '2016' printed on the reverse of the banknote. RBI issues Directions to Navodaya Urban Cooperative Bank, Nagpur, District Nagpur, Maharashtra
The Reserve Bank of India has issued Directions to Navodaya Urban Cooperative Bank Ltd., Nagpur, District Nagpur, Maharashtra for a period of six months with effect from close of business as on December 15, 2016. According to the Directions, Navodaya Urban Cooperative Bank Ltd., Nagpur shall not, without prior approval in writing from the Reserve Bank of India, grant or renew any loans and advances, make any investment, incur any liability including borrowal of funds

Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Deposit Scheme (PMGKDS), 2016
Government of India, in consultation with the Reserve Bank of India, has notified Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Deposit Scheme, 2016. The deposit under this Scheme shall be made by any person who declared undisclosed income under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, 2016. The deposit sum, which shall not be less than twenty-five per cent of the declared undisclosed income, can be deposited at the authorized banks (as notified by Government of India) from December 17, 201

The 562nd meeting of the Central Board of Reserve Bank of India was held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Kolkata. Dr. Urjit R. Patel, Governor, Reserve Bank of India, chaired the meeting. Besides Deputy Governors Shri R. Gandhi, Shri S.S. RBI extends Directions issued to the Sanmitra Sahakari Bank Maryadit, Mumbai, Maharashtra
Sanmitra Sahakari Bank Maryadit, Mumbai, Maharashtra, was placed under directions for a period of six months vide directive dated June 14, 2016 from the close of business on June 14, 2016.
