Sovereign Gold Bonds issued on September 30 to be tradable from October 19
From October 19, 2016 (Wednesday), the Sovereign Gold Bonds issued on September 30, 2016 held in dematerialised form shall be eligible for trading on stock exchanges recognised by the Government of India under the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956. The Reserve Bank of India notified this in terms of Para 17 of the Scheme. RBI issues Directions to The R S Co-operative Bank Ltd., Mumbai, Maharashtra
The R S Co-operative Bank Ltd, Mumbai, Maharashtra, was placed under directions for a period of six months vide directive dated June 24, 2015 from the close of business on June 26, 2015. The validity of the directions was extended on December 21, 2015 for a period of six months from December 25, 2015 and further for a period of three months from June 26, 2016 on June 22, 2016. Shri N. S. Vishwanathan took over as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India today. The Government of India, on June 29, 2016 has appointed him as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, for a period of three years from the date of his taking over charge of the post on or after July 4, 2016 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Shri Vishwanathan was Executive Director of the Reserve Bank before being elevated to the post of Deputy Governor.
