Issue of ₹ 10 coins to commemorate the occasion of "One Hundred Twenty-fifth Year of National Archives of India"
The Government of India has minted the above mentioned coins which the Reserve Bank of India will shortly put into circulation. The design details of these coins as notified in The Gazette of India-Extraordinary- Part II-Section 3-Sub-section (i) – G.S.R.197(E) dated February 26, 2016 issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs, New Delhi are as follows— Obverse- The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word "भारत" in Devanagri script and on the right periphery with the word "INDIA" in English, and it shall also bear the Rupee symbol “₹” and denominational value “10" in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol. Reverse- This face of the coin shall bear the image of “National Archives Building” in the centre, with inscription “125 वर्ष/YEARS below the image. A logo of 125th Anniversary Celebration shall exist at the centre and above the image of “National Archives Building”. The inscription “राष्ट्रीय अभिलेखागार“ in Devanagri script and “NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF INDIA” in English shall be respectively on upper periphery and the lower periphery of the coin. The year “1891” and “2016” in English shall be written on the upper and lower periphery of the coin respectively. The year “1916” and “2016” in international numerals shall be written respectively on left and right top of the image. These coins are legal tender as provided in The Coinage Act 2011.
