RBI imposes monetary penalty on Bansal Credits Limited

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has, by an order dated December 2, 2025, imposed a monetary penalty of ₹6.20 lakh (Rupees Six Lakh Twenty Thousand only) on Bansal Credits Limited (the company) for non-compliance with certain provisions of the ‘Reserve Bank of India (Know Your Customer (KYC)) Directions’ issued by RBI. This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred on RBI under section 58G(1)(b) read with section 58B(5)(aa) of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934.

Reserve Bank of India imposes monetary penalty on Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has, by an order dated December 01, 2025, imposed a monetary penalty of ₹99.30 lakh (Rupees Ninety nine lakh thirty thousand only) on Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited (the bank) for contravention of the provisions of section 26A of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (BR Act) and non-compliance with certain directions issued by RBI on ‘Internal Ombudsman Scheme 2018’, ‘Customer Service in Banks’, and ‘Know Your Customer (KYC) Directions’. This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred on RBI under the provisions of Section 47 A(1)(c) read with Section 46(4)(i) of the BR Act.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has, by an order dated December 03, 2025, imposed a monetary penalty of ₹3,10,000/- (Rupees Three Lakh Ten Thousand only) on Truhome Finance Limited (formerly known as Shriram Housing Finance Limited) (the company) for non-compliance with certain provisions of the Reserve Bank of India (Know Your Customer (KYC)) Directions issued by RBI. This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers conferred on RBI under Section 52A of the National Housing Bank Act, 1987.

RBI grants ‘In-principle’ Approval to Fino Payments Bank Limited for conversion into a Small Finance Bank

The Reserve Bank has today granted ‘in-principle’ approval to Fino Payments Bank Limited (FPBL) for conversion into a Small Finance Bank (SFB). Background RBI has issued the Guidelines for ‘on tap’ licensing of SFBs in the private sector (the guidelines). As per the guidelines, existing Payments Banks which are controlled by residents and have completed five years of operations are eligible for conversion into SFBs. The application of FPBL was assessed as per the procedure laid down in the guidelines.

Rate of interest on Government of India Floating Rate Bond 2031

The rate of interest on Government of India Floating Rate Bond 2031 (FRB 2031) applicable for the half year December 07, 2025 to June 06, 2026 shall be 6.52 per cent per annum. It may be recalled that FRB 2031 carries a coupon, which has a base rate equivalent to the average of the Weighted Average Yield of last three auctions (from the rate fixing day i.e. December 07, 2025) of 182 Day T-Bills, plus a fixed spread of One per cent.

The rate of interest on Government of India Floating Rate Bond 2031 (FRB 2031) applicable for the half year December 07, 2025 to June 06, 2026 shall be 6.52 per cent per annum. The Reserve Bank of India today released on its website the results of the following Surveys: Urban Consumer Confidence Survey (UCCS) – November 2025 Rural Consumer Confidence Survey (RCCS) – November 2025 Inflation Expectations Survey of Households (IESH) – November 2025 Survey of Professional Forecasters on Macroeconomic Indicators – Round1 97th The Survey results are based on the feedback received from the respondents to the Surveys and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Reserve Bank of India.
