Committee on Financial Sector Assessment
In continuation of the Press Release 2006-2007/ 940 dated January 11, 2007 regarding constitution of the Committee on Financial Sector Assessment, it has been decided to appoint Dr. D.Subbarao, Finance Secretary, Government of India as the Co-chairman of the Committee on retirement of Shri Ashok Jha, the earlier Finance Secretary and Co-chairman of the Committee. Accordingly, the composition of the reconstituted Committee on Financial Sector Assessment is as follows:

RBI and 910 branches of Banks to accept Advance Income Tax
As many as 910 computerised branches of public and private sector banks will receive advance income tax in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. These arrangements have been made for the convenience of the income tax assesses. Of the 910 bank branches 833 branches are public sector bank branches,  36 HDFC bank branches, 9 ICICI bank branches, 19 UTI bank branches and 13 IDBI bank branches. The Reserve Bank of India has advised income tax assesses to take advantage of these sta

Reserve Bank of India (Amendment) Act, 2006: Provisions Relating to CRR
