RBI seeks comments/feedback on Draft Guidelines on Computation of Base Rate based on Marginal Cost of Funds methodology
The Reserve Bank of India has today placed on its website for comments/feedback, the draft guidelines on interest rates on advances-Base Rate methodology. Comments/feedback may be e-mailed or sent by post to the Chief General Manager, Directives Division, Department of Banking Regulation, Reserve Bank of India, Central Office, 13th Floor, Shahid Bhagat Singh Marg, Mumbai-400 001 within two weeks of the date of this press release i.e. on or before September 15, 2015. RBI releases list of Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs)
The Reserve Bank of India announced today the designation of State Bank of India and ICICI Bank Ltd. as Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs). The Reserve Bank had issued the Framework for dealing with Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs) on July 22, 2014. All scheduled and non-scheduled banks – public, private, foreign, cooperative, regional rural and local area banks – will observe public holiday on second and fourth Saturdays from September 01, 2015; and will observe full working days on Saturdays other than second and fourth Saturdays (referred to as working Saturdays in the Press Release). Pay IT dues in advance at RBI or at authorised bank branches
The Reserve Bank of India has appealed to income tax assessees to remit their income tax dues sufficiently in advance of the due date. It has also stated that assessees can use alternate channels like select branches of agency banks or the facility of online payment of taxes offered by these banks. These will obviate the inconvenience involved in standing in long queues at the Reserve Bank offices. It is observed that the rush for remitting Income –Tax dues through th

RBI signs Special Currency Swap Agreement with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka
The Reserve Bank of India today signed a Special Currency Swap Agreement with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Under the arrangement, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka can draw upto US$ 1. 1 billion for a maximum period of six months. This special arrangement is in addition to the existing Framework on Currency Swap Arrangement for the SAARC Member Countries.
