Dear Sir,

Formation of new district in Gujarat –
Assignment of Lead Bank Responsibility

The Revenue Department, Government of Gujarat, Gandhinagar vide their Gazzete Notification No. PFR/5207/MR 56/L.1 dated September 27, 2007 have advised about the formation of new district viz. Tapi covering Vyara, Songadh, Uchchal, Nizar, and Valod talukas carved out of the existing Surat district which after reorganisation consist of Choryasi, Palsana, Kamrej, Bardoli, Mahuva, Olpad, Mangrol, Umarpada, Mandvi and Surat City talukas, with effect from October 02, 2007.

2. It has been decided to assign Lead Bank responsibility of new Tapi district to Bank of Baroda. The Lead Bank responsibility of reorganised Surat district will, however, continue to be with Bank of Baroda as hitherto.

3. There is no change in lead bank responsibility of other districts in the State.
