The Reserve Bank of India has advised all banks including commercial banks, regional rural banks and primary co-operative banks to keep their branches open for the full day on Sunday, April 12, 1998. This will be in addition to the advice of the Reserve Bank asking banks to keep their branches open for full day on Saturday, April 11, 1998.

The Reserve Bank will also keep open all its department having public contact on both. The departments having public contact in the Reserve Bank are public Accounts Department, Deposit Accounts Department, Public Debt Office, Clearing House, cash and exchange counters of the Issue Department and the public contact areas in the Exchange Control Department. The above instructions have been issued by the Reserve Bank in public interest to obviate the inconveniance likely to be caused to bank customers on account of the consecutive bank holiday's from April 8 to 10, 1998 in many States and April 11 and 12, 1998 being a Saturday and Sunday, respectively. }

These instructions will not apply to administrative offices of banks.
