The Reserve Bank of India has, imposed a monetary penalty of Rs.1.00 lakh (Rupees One Lakh only) on the Kokan Mercantile Co-operative Bank Ltd., Mumbai, Maharashtra, for violating RBI directive on limits on credit exposure to single borrower/group of borrowers. Reserve Bank Cancels the Licence of the Parivartan Co-operative Bank Ltd., Mumbai (Maharashtra)

RBI to shortly release Technical Paper on Differentiated Bank Licences
The Reserve Bank of India today stated that it will shortly place the Technical Paper on Differentiated Bank Licences on the RBI website for comments/suggestions. It may be recalled that on April 24, 2007, in the Annual Policy Statement for 2007-2008, the Governor, Reserve Bank of India announced (paragraph 185) that a technical paper on 'Differentiated Bank Licences' would be placed on the website by May 31, 2007.
