Maturity of FCNR (B) deposits/Swaps under Special Scheme 2013
As indicated in the First Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement, 2016-17 dated April 5, 2016, the FCNR(B) deposits and the related swaps undertaken under the Special Scheme in 2013 will mature starting from September this year. These swaps are adequately covered by the Reserve Bank's forward purchases. The Reserve Bank of India has today notified that the foreign shareholding through Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs)/Registered Foreign Portfolios Investors (RFPIs) in M/s JKumar Infra Projects Ltd. has crossed the permissible limit. Hedging of Currency Risk arising out of Trade Transactions by Residents under Contracted Route
The extant regulatory framework under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 requires clients to submit documentary evidence of underlying foreign currency exposure to Authorized Dealer Category-I banks at the time of booking of derivative contracts.
