Computation and Dissemination of RBI Reference Rate-Revised Methodology
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) compiles and publishes on a daily basis the Reference Rate for Spot USD/INR. Under the existing methodology, the rate is arrived at through a polling process involving rates obtained from select banks. RBI had constituted a Committee on Financial Benchmarks (Chairman: Shri P. Maturity of FCNR (B) deposits/Swaps under Special Scheme 2013
As indicated in the First Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement, 2016-17 dated April 5, 2016, the FCNR(B) deposits and the related swaps undertaken under the Special Scheme in 2013 will mature starting from September this year. These swaps are adequately covered by the Reserve Bank's forward purchases. It is also pertinent to mention that the forward purchases and the FCNR(B) swaps are not exactly synchronous in terms of maturity bands. Since the forward purchases are

RBI signs Special Currency Swap Agreement with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka

FIIs/RFPIs can now invest up to 49 per cent under PIS in M/s SeQuent Scientific Limited
The Reserve Bank of India has today notified that Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs)/Registered Foreign Portfolios Investors (RFPIs) can now invest up to 49 per cent of the paid up capital of M/s SeQuent Scientific Limited under the Portfolio Investment Scheme (PIS). Further the Reserve Bank has notified that since the holding limit is increased to 49 per cent, the earlier limit of 32.46 per cent as notified vide Press Release No.2014-2015/2410 dated May 14, 2015
