Exchange of Soiled Notes : RBI adds One More Centre
In an effort to reach out the public, the Reserve Bank of India will now also extendthe facility of making available coins of Re.1, Rs. 2, and Rs. 5 and exchanging soilednotes in Chembur. Members of the public in Chembur area may avail this facility at SindhiSociety Gymkhana, Nichaldas Market, 1st floor, Little Malabar Hill, near BhaktiBhavan, Mumbai-400 071 on every Thursday effective from June 10, 1999 between 10.30 a.m.to 1.30 p.m. (excluding public holidays). They may also utilise this opportunity forexchange of soiled notes of Re. 1, Rs. 2, and Rs.5 into coins.
It may be recalled that in order to mitigate the hardship faced by the members of thepublic in obtaining coins, the Reserve Bank of India has made special arrangements to makeavailable coins upto Rs. 800 packed in 'Potlas' of 100 pieces each of Re. 1, Rs. 2, andRs. 5 in exchange at various centres in Mumbai.
