RBI releases draft guidelines on Loan System for Delivery of Bank Credit

Jio Payments Bank Limited commences operations
Jio Payments Bank Limited has commenced operations as a payments bank with effect from April 3, 2018. The Reserve Bank has issued a licence to the bank under Section 22 (1) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 to carry on the business of payments bank in India. Reliance Industries Limited, Mumbai was one of the 11 applicants which were issued in-principle approval for setting up a payments bank, as announced in the press release on August 19, 2015. Jose J. Annual Closing of Government Accounts - Transactions of Central/State Governments-Special Measures for the Current Financial Year (2017-18)
With a view to providing greater convenience to tax payers, it has been decided that RBI Offices and all designated branches of agency banks conducting government banking will keep their counters open up to 8.00 p.m. on March 31, 2018, electronic transactions can be done till the midnight of that day.
