Museum timings are Tuesday to Sunday, 10 AM (IST) to 5 PM (IST), excluding national holidays (26th January, 15th August and 2nd October).
The museum is closed on Mondays.

Museum tour takes approximately 2 hours to visit all the exhibits.

Things to know before you visit
There is no charge for admission.
The RBI Museum is accessible to all. You can just walk-in and if in a group, you can pre-book your visit.
Photos are permitted but video recordings are not allowed.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Minimum 10 people, maximum 25 people
Online booking is not required for less than 10 people, just walk into the museum. The maximum capacity of tour is 25 visitors.
Students are required to carry ID cards issued by the school or college.
Individuals over the age of 18 are required to carry government issued ID with photo such as Aadhar Card, Driver’s License, Passport, etc. Name on the ID must match what is printed on the ticket.
Security Screening
All individuals visiting the museum will be subject to
the Reserve Bank of India’s screening process.
The following items are not allowed in the Museum.
This includes, but is not limited to:
1) Fire arms, stun guns, knives (including large pocket knives), utility/box cutters
2) Explosives
3) Pepper spray or mace
4) Illegal drugs
5) Other illegal or potentially dangerous or destructive items
Prohibited items, not illegal, that are detected will be placed in a container, marked with owner’s name, and returned at the end of the visit. Illegal items that are detected will be confiscated and not returned to the owner.

Visitors can visit the building which is at 8 Council House Street, Kolkata and bring a printed or e-ticket (if a group tour is booked), a valid ID with photo, such as Aadhar card, driver’s license or passport, and pass through a security screening. When reserving a tour, you may enter a tentative list of names to secure the tour time you have chosen. Please update your reservation with the final list of names at least two days prior to your date of visit by clicking on "Manage Reservation."
Note: When you update the reservation, new e-tickets will be generated with the names that you enter.
Yes. Using your confirmation number, you may make changes to your reservation by clicking on the “Manage Reservation” button.

Yes. You may reprint your e-ticket by clicking on the "Manage Reservation" button. You are required to print the e-ticket and present it in order to enter the building.
Visitors are advised to arrive at the Museum atleast 10 minutes prior to your scheduled visit to allow time for security screening and check-in.
No. Due to security reasons, we cannot accept last-minute attendees. Guided tours are strictly by advance reservations only.
No. We can only accommodate 25 visitors per guided tour. If you wish to bring more than 25 visitors, we advise that you divide into smaller groups and book multiple tours.
