Except for the change in the signature, the design of these notes to be issued now is similar in all respects to the banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi Series - 2005, with additional / new security features issued on April 27, 2006. The Reserve Bank of India has been receiving complaints from some quarters about inadequate availability of coins. The Reserve Bank clarifies that there is no shortage of coins and members of public, shops and commercial establishments can obtain their coin requirements from its Regional Offices or from designated branches of commercial banks. In case of difficulties/problems in this regard, members of public and others can approach the Regional Directors of the conce
