The Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue ` 100/- denomination banknotes with inset letter "L" in both numbering panels in Mahatma Gandhi Series with the signature of Dr. D. Subbarao, Governor, Reserve Bank of India and the year 2011 printed on the back on the Bank note. Coins of denomination of 25 paise and below will cease to be legal tender from June 30, 2011. These will not be accepted for exchange at bank branches and RBI Issue Offices from June 30, 2011. RBI Never asks for Your Bank Account Details
It has come to the notice of the Reserve Bank of India that mail has been sent in its name "inviting bank customers to update their bank account details against online phishing". The Reserve Bank has clarified that it has NOT sent any such email. It has further clarified that the Reserve Bank or banks never issue communication asking for bank account details for any purpose. The Reserve Bank has appealed to members of public not to respond to such mails and not to sha

RBI cautions Public about Unauthorised Companies collecting Deposits
The Reserve Bank of India has today cautioned members of public about unauthorised companies which collect money from public stating that they have been authorised by the Reserve Bank to do so. The Reserve Bank stated that it has published on its website (http://rbi.org.in/scripts/BS_NBFCList.aspx) a list of non-banking finance companies (NBFCs) which are permitted to accept deposits.
