Appointment of Director for IGIDR
The Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) is an autonomous advanced research institute established by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) with the mandate to carry out research on multi-disciplinary issues. IGIDR also offers Post Graduate/ Ph.D Programmes in Economics and contemporary policy issues and is recognised as a Deemed University by the University Grants Commission. The institute is funded by the RBI and besides original research, undertakes projects for Governments, RBI as well as supernational institutions such as UNDP, UNCTAD, World Bank etc. The Institute seeks an eminent scholar with proven track record of outstanding research and academic achievements as the Director, who shall be its principal academic and executive officer. A person possessing the highest level of competence, integrity, morals and institutional commitment would be preferred to be appointed as Director. The person should be a distinguished academician, with a minimum of ten years of experience as Professor in a University or ten years of experience in a reputed research and / or academic administrative organisation with proof of having demonstrated academic leadership. The Director’s appointment will be initially for a period of five years and he/she shall be eligible for reappointment for a further period of five years or less at a time / up to the age of 65 years. The applicant should not be aged more than 60 years as on April 18, 2022. An attractive compensation package will be offered commensurate with the industry standards.
