2.We advise that Government of India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry (Deptt. of industrial Policy & Promotion) have since issued a Gazette Notification No.S.O 1169 (E) dated 20 October 2004 along with names of the 85 de-reserved items (which include 15 sub-items) from the list of items reserved for exclusive manufacture in the small scale sector. With the issue of aforesaid notification, the number of items reserved for exclusive manufacture in the small-scale sector as on 20 October 2004 stands at 605.

3. A copy of letter No.21(1)/2004-SSI Bd.& Pol. Dated 5 November 2004 received from the Government of India, Ministry of SSI, together with a copy of the Gazette Notification dated 20 October 2004 referred to above is enclosed for your information.

4. Further we also forward herewith for your information a copy of letter No.5(1)/2004-SSI Board& Policy dated 28 October 2004, received from the Ministry of SSI, clarifying that the fertilizer/manure, produced from septic tank waste is organic manure and can be registered under SIDO Registration Programme provided other conditions such as investment limit etc. are satisfied.
