Reserve Bank of India imposes monetary penalty on Bank of Baroda and Indian Bank

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has, by an order dated October 24, 2019, imposed monetary penalty of ₹ 35 lakh (Rupees Thirty Five Lakh) on Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd. (the bank) for non-compliance with certain provisions of directions issued by RBI on “Reserve Bank of India (Frauds classification and reporting by commercial banks and select FIs) directions 2016”.
