RBI issues Master Directions for Non-Banking Financial Companies
The Reserve Bank of India today issued Master Directions on six subjects relating to Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) under its regulation. These directions consolidate/reorganise instructions issued in various Circulars/Directions/ Notifications/Master Circulars. RBI identifies SBI and ICICI Bank as D-SIBs in 2016
The Reserve Bank of India has identified State Bank of India (SBI) and ICICI Bank as Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs) in 2016 and has retained their bucketing structure as it was last year. The additional Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) requirement for these banks has already been phased-in from April 1, 2016 and would become fully effective from April 1, 2019.
