45th Half-Yearly Report on Management of Foreign Exchange Reserves: April - September 2025

It may be recalled that in February 2004, the Reserve Bank initiated the practice of compiling half-yearly reports on the management of foreign exchange reserves and making them public to promote greater transparency and enhance disclosure in the management of the country’s foreign exchange reserves.

44th Half Yearly Report on Management of Foreign Exchange Reserves: October 2024 - March 2025

The Reserve Bank of India has today released the 44th half-yearly report on management of foreign exchange reserves with reference to end-March 2025. The position of foreign exchange reserves as on April 25, 2025 is as under: US $ Billion Foreign Exchange Reserves (i+ii+iii+iv)* 688.13

Renewal of the Bilateral Swap Arrangement between Japan and India

Japan and India renewed the Bilateral Swap Arrangement (BSA) effective today (Feb. 28, 2025).  

     The Bank of Japan, acting as agent for the Minister of Finance of Japan, and the Reserve Bank of India signed the second Amendment and Restatement Agreement of the BSA. The BSA is a two-way arrangement where both authorities can swap their local currencies in exchange for the US Dollar. The size of the BSA remains unchanged, that is, up to 75 billion US Dollars.
